![]() Once it has installed itself, it should enable itself automatically, but if not, simply click on the enable button and you're good to go. There is also a Digital Audio forum where MinimServer users can discuss any other aspects of the digital audio ecosystem. So, leaving JRE 8 installed and running, manually download the MinimServer Qnap ARM QPKG and install it by clicking on the 'Install Manually' button and browse to your downloaded file. There is a forum for topics related to MinimStreamer and there is a Music Tagging forum for discussing different approaches for tagging your music collection. That isn't the official way to do it, but I tried that on a TS-219 and it automatically installed JRE 8 before installing MinimServer, but to be honest, that might not work of the problem is that MinimServer isn't downloadable via the Qnap web interface due to it being missing at Qnaps end of things (see Patrick's post, just below this one I have very good reason to strongly suspect that he is correct). Try removing JRE 8 and then installing MinimServer (which installs and enables both, automatically). Method 1 (this might not work if the fault is at Qnap's end): The first method used to work (as I did it accidentally) but I suspect it now won't, so though I'll mention both, just try the second one: There are ways you could do this, and I'd recommend the second method (leave JRE8 and download / install the file directly from the MinimServer downloads page). Thanks for the help! I'll stay around on this forum, there's a lot of interesting reading to do.A very warm welcome to the Qnap community forum! In the meantime, I use the "Exclude codec setting" option with ALAC in piCorePlayer, which asks LMS to transcode the files to FLAC on the fly. ![]() Converting ALAC to FLAC is an acceptable (but time consuming) solution, since I don't need to play music in iTunes anymore. Now, the only major problem I'm facing seems to be the one with ALAC files described here. We use cookies to help us improve our webpage. Also, LMS with its Tidal integration reminds me of my days with Roon. MinimServer is an advanced UPnP AV server for your music library. I'm still under the impression that having two servers is just duplicating the job, but the Aries can't access LMS (I tried activating UPnP in LMS to access on the Aries, without success). I need MinimServer to feed the AURALiC Aries : I find MinimServer faster to browse and update on Lightning DS than using AURALiC's Lightning Server. Maybe it doesn't change a thing, but I prefer when the servers have a direct (not network) access to the files. Raspberry Pi #2 (with DigiOne hat) has piCorePlayer only running Squeezelite. Raspberry Pi #1 has MinimServer and LMS serving the same files from an attached USB drive. I also have an AURALiC Aries, streaming from the same MinimServer and this streamer sees the album arts all the time. The album art is really there, both embedded in the file and within a folder.jpg file (I tried with FLAC files that plays directly, so we can't blame the transcoding). While I can live with the transcoding, my main problem is that for the files coming from the MinimServer, LMS doesn't see any album art. MinimServer performs very well with 1T of music files that I have stored on a remote PC. Is there a way to play them directly without transcoding on the server side?Ģ. MinimServer is very fast to load large amount of music files and more importantly maintains the index of music files in the server’s memory even when the DAC is off so it doesn’t have to rebuild the index every time you turn on the DAC. I found a workaround by using MinimStreamer with the rule alac:wav. ![]() Most of my library is in ALAC (for those glorious iTunes days), and although LMS is able to play ALAC files on a USB drive (by transcoding them or not, depending if you have FFmpeg installed), it doesn't seem to be able to play the same ALAC files when they are shared by the MinimServer. I encountered some problems when I tried to access my MinimServer library.ġ. It works great, both with Spotify, Tidal and USB storage. I spent a big part of my saturday trying to solve this problem : I installed piCorePlayer with LMS on a Raspberry Pi with a DigiOne hat.
